  • April 17th, 2007: Vehicle Crash: Area 42

Engine 42 was dispatched for a motor vehicle crash at Ash and Main with injuries.  Units arrived on scene to find a female patient being treated by EMS.  Engine 42 set up a traffic pattern and crews assisted the EMS and in did cleanup.

  • April 17th, 2007: Automatic Alarm: Area 41

  • Engine 42 was dispatched with the rest of the group for an automatic alarm at the Forest City Nursing Center.  All Companies were cancelled prior to responding.

  • April 15th, 2007: Public Service: Area 42

    Chief 42 made an incident with the county for some sandbagging duty for the crew at a house on 2nd Street.  Due to us being at this house multple times prior we wanted to stop the problem before it happened.

  • April 13th, 2007: Auto Alarm: Area 41

Companies 41, 42, 43, and Forest City EMS were alerted for the activated fire alarm at the Forest City High School.  All companies were returned just after dispatch.

 

  • April 12th, 2007: CO alarm: Area 42

  • Engine 42, Engine 43, Rescue 41 and Forest City EMS were alerted to 4th Street in Vandling for a CO Alarm.  Chief 43A marked on scene and assumed the command.  Findings proved negative after a short investigation.

  • April 2nd, 2007:  Fire: Area 41

Engine 42 was alerted along with Station 41 and 43 for a possible structure fire.  The location was at the Coalminer's Inn om Main Street in Forest City.  Engine 41 and Chief 41A arrived to find a smoke condition.  Inital reports was food on the stove in divison 2.  Engine 42 was cancelled a block away from the scene.

  • April 2nd, 2007:  Brush Fire, Area 61

  • Engine 42 was dispatched along with Engine 41 and Engine 43 for a possible brush fire on Dundaff Street heading towards Simpson.  After inital dispatch the Lackawanna County dispatched Station 61 for the brush fire.  Chief 61 cancelled all units with the exception of Engine 61-4, Engine 42, and Brush Tanker 60.  All units cleared after operating a short time.

    Engine 41, Engine 42, Engine 43, Engine 61-4, Rescue 51, Brush Tanker 60, and Ambulance 51-9.

  • March 17th, 2007: Activated Fire Alarm: Area 41

Engine 42 was alerted along with stations 41 and 43 for an activated fire alarm on Delaware Street in Forest City.  Prior to any companies responding the alarm company called back with the correct code for a cancel.  All units returned to service.

  • March 15th, 2007: CO Alarm:  Area 42

Engine 42 was alerted for a Carbon Monoxide Activation at a residence on Main street in Vandling.  Chief 42 arrived to find no one in the house feeling sick.  Engine 42 arrived and the crew made entry to the house to check the house.  Chief 42 requested Rescue 41 for the CO meter due ours being out of service.  Chief 42 was incident command.

  • March 7th, 2007:  Activated Fire Alarm:  Area 61

Engine 42 was alerted to assist Station 61 (Simpson) for an activated fire alarm at the Convenient Store on Main street.  Quick Response 51 and Captain 61 arrived on scene to find nothing showing.  The Wayne County Units were placed back in service.

On the Assignment....

Engine 613, Engine 614, Rescue 51, Ladder 51, Ambulance 51-9, Quick Response 51, and Standby units were Engine 41, Engine 42, Tanker 75, and Rescue 59.

  • February 19th, 2007: Fire Alarm, Area 41

Engine 42 was alerted to assist Station 41 (Forest City) for an activated fire alarm at the Forest City Personal Care Home.  Fire Marshal 41 cancelled all units with the exception of Engine 41.

Engine 41, Engine 42, Engine 43, Forest City EMS, Ladder 51, Rescue 51-1, and Clifford Fire Units.

  • February 14th, 2007: Building Collapse, Area 61

Engine 42 and the crew was put on standby for a possible assist to Station 61 and the rescue crew from Cottage for a garage collapse on Jefferson Street.  While en route Rescue 51 got stuck in the 18+ inches of snow on the road and could not continue.  The crew walked the rest of the way to the scene to find nothing they could do.  Utilities were on the scene and handling the issues from the collapse.  The Engine crew took a trip down Northwest road to assist the Rescue crew with getting the truck out of the ditch and the snow.  Thanks to Vandling Member John Kulick and his "poorman's bulldozer" saving the day.  Engine went back in service.

  • February 10th, 2007:  Investigation, Area 42

A call was placed to the station for smoke detectors going off in a residence on Clinton Street.  Chief 42 and FCPD went to investigate.  Nothing was found.  All Units went back in service.

  • February 1st, 2007:  Vehicle Crash: Area 41

Engine 42 was dispatched as part of the group 40 for a 3 car accident that was reported to be minor.  Forest City Police cancelled all fire units prior to responding.  FCPD request Forest City Fire Police to handle the call.  Forest City EMS command requested 2 BLS units from Cottage Ambulance to assist.  One unit from Cottage was later cancelled.

Engine 42, Engine 43, Rescue 41, Forest City EMS, Forest City Police, Ambulance 51-9 and Ambulance 51-8.

  • January  31st,   2007:  Vehicle Crash: Area 43

Engine 42 was alerted along with Engine 43, Rescue 41, and Forest City EMS for a 1 car accident with no injuries or entrapment on Main Street in Browndale.  Engine 42 and Rescue 41 were returned to service quickly by Command 43 due to it being a minor accident.

  • January  30th,  2007:  Vehicle Crash: Area 42

Engine 42, Rescue 41, Engine 43, Forest City EMS, and Mobile 9 were alerted for a motor vehicle accident at Valley View Terrace and Route 171.  Chief 42 arrived on scene quickly and put Engine 43 back in service and had Rescue 41 come in non-emergent along with Engine 42.  Mobile 9 had 2 patient refusals on scene.  Chief 42(Hollis) was incident command.

  • January  24th,  2007: Structure Fire: Area 43

Engine 42 was alerted to assist Station 43 for a structure fire in Clinton Township on Stanton Rd.  Engine 42 was the 4th arriving engine and was quickly returned by command 43.  The fire turned out to be a controlled burn of the structure that went out of control.

Engines 42,43,12,75, 133(relocate), Rescue 41, Mini-Pumper 94, Tankers 94, 12, and 75 along with Waymart EMS.

  • January  22nd, 2007: Fire Alarm: Area 41

Engine 42 was alerted to assist Station 41 for an activated Fire Alarm at the Forest City Nursing Center.  Chief 41 arrived and put everyone back in service with the exception of Engine 41.

Engine 41, Engine 42, Engine 43, Tower 43, Ladder 51, Rescue 51, Station 18, and Station 52 along with Forest City EMS.

  • January  19th, 2007:  MVA: Area 41

Engine 42 was alerted to assist Rescue 41 and Engine 43 for a motor vehicle crash on Main Street in Forest City.  Engine 42 and Engine 43 were cancelled prior to responding.

On the Assignment:

Rescue 41, Engine 42, Engine 43, and Forest City EMS.

  • January 17th, 2007:  Structure Fire:  Browndale

Engine 42 was alerted to assist Station 43 for a structure fire on Vine Street in Browndale.  Station 43 was dispatched for an investigation in the area and was later found out to be a child's playhouse next to a house.  Engine 42 was second arriving Engine behind 43 Engine and the Tower.  Engine 42 crew assisted in overhaul with the Tower crew.  All other units were returned.  Chief 42(Hollis) was the 42 Engine officer.

  • January 16th, 2007:  Standby, For Simpson

Engine 42 was alerted in the mid morning for a standby assignment for Station 61(Simpson).  Station 61 was dispatched to Owego Street for a possible basement fire.  Engine 61-4 and Ladder 51 arrived to find smoke showing.  After a quick investigation Command 61 found the smoke to be a malfunction in a furnace.  Command Held Engine 61-4 and Ladder 51 returning the rest.  Chief 42 had the Engine Command.

On the Assignment....

Engine 61-3, Engine 61-4, Ladder 51, Rescue 51, Ambulance 51-9 and Standby units were Engine 41, Engine 42, and Rescue 51-2.

  • January 4th, 2007: Standby, For Simpson

Engine 42 was alerted for the standby for Station 61 while they operated on a rubbish fire in the Owego Turnpike/Dundaff Street area.  Engine 42 was quickly placed back in service.  Captain Davis was the 42 officer in charge.

On the Assignment....

Engine 614, Rescue 51, Engine 42(Standby), and Ambulance 519.

  • January 2nd, 2007:  MVA, Main Street, Vandling

Engine 42 along with the group 40 tones were dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street in Vandling for a personal injury accident.  Forest City PD arrived on scene and cancelled all fire apparatus.  Forest City EMS, Mobile 9, and Chief 42A continued to the scene.  1 patient was transported BLS to Marian Community and 1 patient refusal on the scene.
